What is the Marketing tool?

The Marketing tool is a tool that can be used to send various campaigns and marketing messages to your customers. With the help of the tool, you can conveniently send mass messages and track campaign costs, click rates, and revenue gained.

Using the Marketing tool

NOTE!

  • Users with the role of Owner OR Employee/Chair renter/Trainee with the user permission "Can view campaigns list" are able to create, edit and view campaigns.

  • The Cost of your campaign will be deducted from your next settlement(s).

How you create a new campaign

You can create a new campaign by clicking on the button "Create SMS Campaign" in the upper right corner.

After that, you will see an overview of the campaign, where you will be able to name it, which will make it easier to keep track of your different campaigns and how successful they have been.

To create your campaign, you need to go through the 4 steps of creation, one by one. The different steps are SMS content, Schedule, Audience and Budget.

Step 1: SMS content

  • Firstly, you can customize the name that will show as the sender of the SMS message. Please note that it can be a maximum of 11 characters and can't include spaces.

  • Secondly, you can choose if you would like to include a link to your booking page, to your gift card shop, a custom link, or if you would not like to have a link included in the SMS at all.

  • The last thing to do in the first step is to customize your SMS message. Fill in the text you would like, and then you are able to see the preview of how it will look like to the customer in the box just underneath. When you are writing your message, you are also able to see how many SMS messages it will count as, according to how many characters you are using.

Please note that if you are using emojis, they count as more than one character.

Click on "Set", and you are done with the first step!

Step 2: Schedule

  • In the second step you need to schedule when you wish to send you SMS campaign. It can either be as soon as possible, which means right away after you have finished creating your campaign and hit the "Launch now!" button, or you can choose to schedule it for a future release. With that option you will choose the date and time for launch.

Please note that you are only able to send the messages between 8am and 8pm, AND that the budget of the campaign may change if you choose to send it at a later time (depending on how many customers match your audience at the time of sending, for example)

Click on "Set", and move on to the third step.

Step 3: Audience

  • In the third step you are selecting the audience, or target group, of your campaign. In the drop-down menu you can choose from the following:

  • All clients: With this option you will send the SMS to all subscribing customers from your client register.

  • Booked a service: Here you will be able to choose a service that you offer, and the audience will be selected according to the customers who has booked this service with you in the past.

  • Custom: With the "Custom" option, you can choose a tag that you have added to certain customers in their customer cards, for example #VIP. You can also choose to exclude certain tags.

  • No booking: The last option is for customers who haven't had a booking with you in a selected time period, from which you can choose the past month, the past 2 months, the past 3 months, or never.

You can also choose more than one of the options to specify your audience further, for example clients who has booked "Women's cut" with you in the past, and hasn't had a booking in the past 2 months.

Please note that customers will only receive your SMS message if they match your audience rule(s) AND have consented to receive SMS marketing messages from you on their account.

  • If you chose "Schedule for future release" in the "Schedule" step, you also get the option on when you would like the audience to be selected. The option is either that they are selected when you are creating/saving the campaign, OR when the SMS is scheduled to be sent.

  • They can be different for example if a customer has made a new booking with you after you created the campaign, but before it is scheduled to be sent.

When the Audience has been chosen, you will click on "Set" and move on to the last step.

Step 4: Budget

  • In the last step, you will see your estimated cost for the client base you have chosen as your audience. Here you are also able to adjust your budget in case you feel like it's too much of a cost, or if you would like to try the campaign on a smaller audience first.

  • If you choose "Full budget", then all of the customers who match the audience will receive the SMS message.

  • If you choose "Custom budget", the system will show you how many of the customers that match the audience will receive it under "Calculated reach" after you have set the budget.

After this step, you are ready to send your campaign!

Sending your campaign

When you have created your campaign, you will see a summary of your Audience, Launch time, and Expected cost. If you are happy with it, click on the "Launch now!" button to launch it.

  • If you have chosen "As soon as possible" it will be sent after you click on "Launch now!".

Please note that there is a 2 min safety delay, in case you clicked the launch button by mistake.

  • If you have chosen to schedule the campaign for a later date, it will automatically be launched at the date and time you have chosen.

You are also able to send a Test SMS to yourself before launching the campaign to your customers. You do that by clicking on "Send a test SMS", and filling in your phone number.

It is free to send a test SMS.

Please note that customers can't reply to the campaign message.

After you have sent your campaign

After you have sent your campaign, you are able to follow up on the results of it in the overview.

  • The Cost is what you are paying for the campaign.

  • The Click rate shows how many of your clients have clicked the link in your SMS.

  • The Revenue shows how much money you are making from the bookings that have been generated via the SMS.

    • It is specified as either "Direct", which means that the revenue is gained from when a customer has clicked the link in your SMS, or "Organic", which means that the revenue has been gained from when a customer who has received the campaign has made a booking, or bought a gift card or product via their account within 7 days of receiving the SMS, but not directly via the SMS.

The Marketing tool will also get the option of email marketing in the future!
